How do I adjust the elastic loops on my mask?

Most of our masks come with adjustable "buttons" that slide up and down the elastics to loosen or tighten them as needed. You can also tie a new knot in the elastic loop to make it bigger or smaller.

Do smile masks fog up?

Each smile mask comes pre-treated with our anti-fog spray, and the spray is available for purchase on our website. Re-apply the anti-fog spray as needed to help minimize fogging. Condensation (the build-up of droplets from exhaled moisture) will still occur and should be wiped away.

Is the anti-fog spray safe?

Our anti-fog spray contains only water and all-natural glycerol and coconut tallow soaps. Reapply our anti-fog spray as needed by applying one or two sprays to the inside of the window and gently drying with a soft cloth. Please use in accordance with instructions and do not put on your smile mask until the spray has dried.

Are smile masks as safe as other masks?

Our masks are classified by health experts as a cloth face covering, not a medical-grade mask, and they meet current guidelines for required face coverings in public. They are not meant to provide a "seal" to the face like a medical-grade N95 mask does, and they do not filter the air.  If you are seeking more protection than a cloth face covering provides, you should consider a medical-grade mask.

Is the mask breathable? Will the window touch my face?

The "box" shape of our mask is designed to hold the plastic away from your mouth and nose. If necessary, shorten the elastic loops to pull the sides of the mask in toward your face, creating a deeper "bow" or curve in the plastic window.

What materials are smile masks made of?

We very carefully sourced our materials to ensure our smile masks are non-toxic. The fabric consists of two layers of 100% cotton and the plastic window is certified as food- and medical-grade and is free of PVC, BPA, DEPH, latex, lead, and mercury. Our anti-fog spray includes only water, glycerol and coconut tallow soaps.

What are the dimensions of the adult and child masks?

Our adult masks are 7 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" tall when folded flat. The top and bottom flaps of the "box" shape are 1". The elastic loops add an additional 2" on both sides UNSTRETCHED. They can stretch to comfortably provide an extra 4" on each side, and can be made shorter or longer as needed.

Our child size masks are 6" wide and 3" tall when folded flat. The top and bottom of the "box" shape are 1". The elastics add an additional 1" on both sides UNSTRETCHED. They can stretch to comfortably provide an extra 3" on each side, and the elastic loops can be adjusted to be shorter or longer as needed.

Are smile masks washable?

Yes. We recommend hand washing in antibacterial hand or dish soap, then letting the mask air-dry. Reapply our anti-fog spray as needed by applying one or two sprays to the inside of the window and gently drying with a soft cloth. Do not put on your smile mask until the spray has dried.

With our standard first-class shipping within the United States, your order should arrive in 2-5 business days. We also offer Priority shipping and Priority Express shipping for an additional fee. Priority and Priority Express shipping take anywhere from 1-3 days domestically.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes, we ship within the United States and its territories and military bases, and to all countries served by the following carriers: USPS, DHL, UPS, Canada Post, Sendle and FedEx. You will be quoted and charged for international shipping fees at check-out.
